Amazing San Francisco

I needed a day away from technology after spending the past week in a little lab room getting MPLS and BGP to be friends for an Inter Provider VPN network.

We drove into San Francisco this Sunday morning, up 101 North, then into onto the Wharf. Fishermans Wharf is the perfect way to enjoy a lazy Sunday; a breadbowl of chowder, a dungeness crab, and a corona. Kicked back at a sidewalk table in the sunlight and chatted a bit before embarking on a trip around San Fran.

We took a boat ride around the harbour, under the Golden Gate Bridge, around Alcatraz, and back into Fishermans Wharf.

There was some more time in the day, so we decided to venture up to the top of Mount Tamalpais . Unbelievable beauty, and scenery. I had visited Mt. Tam a few years back when some friends took me up there for a flawless view of San Francisco in one direction, and the Pacific Ocean in the other direction. We could not have picked a better day to go there. Not a cloud in the sky, and further more, the brisk weather that we had for the whole week had subsided and the sun had warmed the air to a reasonable level of degrees.

After the sun set, we drove back down on US 101, till we pulled off on the Golden Gate recreation area which overlooks the Golden Gate Bridge.

I had a chance to play with the settings on the Canon S50, tweaking the ISO setting produced that really cool shot of the San Fran Golden Golden Bridge...
