phuket; heading home

By Truman Boyes · · 1 min read

spend a few days in phuket, thailand for a regional company gathering. The food: spicy and fantastic. The spicy dishes and the plethora of seafood choices made my mouth water with delight. Yngwie, Luo Hua and I took a trip to over to Pathong Beach and after dinner of tiger prawns, lobster, shrimp, squid, and singha beer, we ventured down one of the soi in search of a good foot massage. Couldn’t beat it; as I soon realized that we all fell asleep during the massage. 250 baht later and an hour later, we were feeling great and ready to walk around.

Had great time meeting up with colleages and hearing about the direction of things to come. Chatted about IMS and various ethernet capabilities in MPLS. Been thinking about multi-segment pseudo wires across autonomous systems / MPLS domains. Need to see that latest capabilities in JUNOS in performing this type of operation. I think it really comes down to using targetted LDP across existing Option c Inter-AS VPNs; plus a little labeled ipv4… but I still want to see it in use.

In the international departure lounge (although it’s really just a waiting area), of Phuket International, there is an Internet service where you can pay for wifi for 200 baht for an hour. Pretty good deal if you were to ask me.

Henry Chan, amazing photographer and the photographer that we used for our wedding, just sent through the proofs from our wedding via his online gallery. I am very pleased with the work that he has done. If you are looking for a photojournalist with artistic skills of michelangelo, and you happen to be in New York, Henry Chan would be highly recommended.
