vmware and ipv6 — Truman Boyes

Lots of troubles getting IPv6 working on a bridged wifi connection with IPv6. It sorta works, but not really. Basically I can not reach the IPv6 router on the subnet. Then I stumbled upon this link:

I had tried all sorts of things such as static setting the neighbours with link layer addresses (ie. the equivalent of static ARP) but that didn’t really do it. Finally I just popped in the ethernet cable and everything is working in Gentoo Linux and OpenBSD. The autoconf works fine with our IPv6 router advertisements which are present on the network.
