running like a train

By Truman Boyes · · 1 min read

In the cool East coast, below freezing air, I went running this morning; called up Phil to see if he was up for a run as well, and sure enough he was. I should have figured that his routine would be pretty full-on and it was. I made the mistake of running to his house, thus burning up a good deal of my energy. Quickly I became sidetracked at his house as I found a way to help Phil winterize his outdoor spigot on his house, turned it off from inside and then drained the remaining water pressure. At least it should keep the pipes from freezing and bursting.

Phil’s run was a good 45minute run or more on some slightly hilly roads, combining that run with my 1 mile run over to his house made my lungs and legs feel  tired and ready for a calm walk. I pushed on and I am glad I did, in the next few weeks I am going to keep pushing for longer runs to build up more stamina.
On a completely different note, I am receiving emails from some conservative group in the states that is pushing complete nonsensical gibberish and attempting to stir the pot so to speak by getting people behind a cause to investigate if Obama is suitable to be president-elect because of the “natural born citizen” wording in our requirements for presidency. However, it is rather ironic that the conservative groups (read, at the time they were pushing for McCain) would push this issue; McCain was born in the Panama Canal Zone. The term “natural born citizen” is a hazy one.
