decoder ring and more
The wind in wellington is strong and gusting while the inside of my house is nice and toasty warm. Listing to Decoder Ring ( somersault ), which is a truly inspiring epilogue of whatever you happen to want it to mean that day. Fantastic backgrounds with spacey sounds of wilderness and cold icicles of long echoing pianos and synths. I have been thinking this afternoon about working on a animation sequence that would entail using some of the sounds from this album and creating fractal trees sequencing the growth of an entire biosphere.
And for tech stuff, last night I installed OpenBSD 4.1 in a vmware vm running on the server in the closet. Been thinking about getting freeswitch running on it and using it for learning about how it stacks up for call routing. It’s purely for my own interest and really not a primary focus, but it’s good to have some non-focus or rather some motivation for self education.
