Waiting for the train
It’s a hot day. 5:30 in the afternoon and the subways are packed; rubbing, sliding, and congestion. Heading home so I can make it back for a family dinner.
The day went well, much work completed. There is always more to be done, but it’s time to detach for the day and just think about the more important things: family.
Listening to some Birdy Nam Nam which to me is perfect commuting music. Random cuts, back queues, and general polyphony which to me is relaxing and exciting at the same time.
Thinking about the whole SDN space and how some people are considering all routing from the ToR, and essentially using overlay networks to create layer 2 extensions from virtual machine to virtual machine or rather virtual network to network. This connection of vm signaling to IGP or BGP seems like a worrying factor. There are ways to make it work, but injecting thousands of /32 or /128 prefixes into OSPF will not be a good thing. BGP would work a lot better.
